What Are One-Way Links? Empty What Are One-Way Links?

Post  royal Wed Sep 14, 2011 5:21 am

Hi,
A one-way link is exactly what it sounds like. It is when one site links to another, and that site does not link back. Links are used by prominent search engines in order to determine the reputability of a website. The theory goes that sites will tend to link to the most trustworthy sites first, so these sites deserve to be closer to the top of the search results.

Being that site owners are well aware of the importance of links, some of them will go to any lengths to get them. There are site owners who will use automated software to cram forums and blogs full of comments with links back to their site. This is called spam. There are even some who will resort to hacking a website in order to post links on it. But one of the oldest methods of getting links is to simply get in touch with somebody and trade links with them. Traded links are called reciprocal links, and there is nothing wrong with having a few of them, but they are not a reliable method, and are not one-way links. That said, one-way links are not as easy to get, and it is for this reason that the search engines place much more weight on them.

How does a site get one-way links? A purist would argue that someone simply needs to create good content. Websites want to link to others for their interesting or important information. Maybe there is something funny or a hot topic is addressed that one site wants to share with its visitors or other readers. Rather than stealing it, people link to it. It is absolutely true that good content will bring forth natural links, because people tend to link to trustworthy or entertaining content. This certainly isn't the only way to build one-way links, however, but it is a powerful source of linking and sharing information with interested people.

Of course, none of this means that it makes sense to resort to the spam methods discussed earlier. There are other ways to build one-way links. One of the best ways to do so is to write guest posts. By contacting blogs discussing similar topics, building a relationship with them, writing a post on their site and linking back to relevant content on the author's site to further elaborate on the topic, it is possible to boost a site's authority in the search engines.

Whatever explained is absolutely right, one way links are those which doesn't link back to your site and two way links are those links back to your site for there promotion.
