Few tactics to appeal to the search engines Empty Few tactics to appeal to the search engines

Hi,
It doesn't really matter what kind of website you have or what online business you run, you'll always need targeted traffic. You need to get your site optimized for the search engines if this is your aim. When SEO is done correctly, you get that targeted traffic and they'll also typically buy, too. However, if you are new to the whole SEO concept, then you might make mistakes that will harm your site on the long run.

Your site should be appealing to the search engines, not pushed out completely. This is why it's always important to keep in mind what you shouldn't do, so that you don't end up in a soup. So read on and don't make these mistakes if you want quality traffic flooding to your website.

Most new webmasters commit the SEO mistake of making the site too flash-heavy. Flash may make a website cool, but it's no good for SEO. Flash helps with your human readers but search engines can't even see it so it won't help you in the searches.

If you want to get seen by the search engine spiders, you must have content on your site as that's what they look for. Your ranking will be greatly affected by this. Flash still has its place, but make sure you have enough content so that the search engines will rank you. If you add more text, your site will do better. It is important to remember not to make the other mistake, which is to never plagiarize content from other sites, as that's not a good thing to do. If you try to take content that's not yours in the hopes that it will assist you with reaching your goals, you're mistaken. It may appear as though there are no repercussions at first, but it will hurt you once someone discovers that you've stolen your content. The largest downfall is that the search engines have figured out how to get around this, and they can recognize content that's been duplicated. Your site will get stuck in the duplicate content filter, which will eventually affect your ranking.

That's why you always want to ensure that you utilize text that is appealing to readers and search engines alike.

Just remember that ethics is something you always want to use with SEO. Nowadays, you find a number of companies who aim at providing SEO services. Some of these companies are legit, but some use methods that don't consider ethics to go about SEO. Search engines are notorious for banning sites with no notice. Therefore, if you want to hire a person or company for their SEO abilities, work only with those people who are reputable and will update you often on the results. The more they reveal to you the better they'll be.

Who knew that SEO was such a simple beast to tame? Just practice your linking strategy, making sure you only link to relevant pages and get as many relevant links pointing to your site as you can and your site will rank higher automatically. It seems that Google is placing a large emphasis on the number of relevant backlinks that a site has so it would be wise to focus a little bit more of your time on getting them.
