A landing page that communicates this experience is probably one of the more difficult ones to create... for how do mere pixels on the screen convey emotion? An ecommerce site will be ideal if you want to sell your products online, whereas a brochure site will be perfect if you just want to tell people about your services, or provide information for your visitors.

Would you ask a printer to print pamphlets that say "Web Page Under Construction" or similar, of course you wouldn't. I am also guessing that the printer would say otherwise to.

The purpose of your home page... indeed, your website... determines how you go about designing the look, feel and copy of that page. So be very clear on your goal before you start working on its design.
