Google Panda's Impact On SEO
Hi Everybody,
It's no secret that Google has made a number of different changes to their algorithm over the years. Some of these changes have been subtle, and some of them have been incredibly obvious. The latest changes the latter, and it has affected search engine optimization in what many would consider to be a rather negative way. The question however is how it will affect you, or rather how you will be letting it affect you both now and in the future.
Search engine optimization has long been one of the best ways to advertise and drive traffic to websites, so it's not surprising that so many have taken advantage of various SEO techniques. In fact, effective search engine optimization has permitted many small businesses to successfully operate throughout the world by helping them achieve high rankings in relevant Google searches. That's a wonderful thing for those businesses, but what about others who want to abuse the system?
Content farms full of duplicate content have been spotted around the internet for years now, and they present an interesting problem. This problem of course is the duplicate content and the fact that much of it is produced using article spinners. These spinners take a single article and use it to create a number of different articles. While they might appear to be unique at first glance, those who come across the spun article will recognize it immediately when they see one of it's many counterparts.
How has the recent change to Google's algorithm affected search engine optimization? Google is cracking down on content farms with duplicate content. It's also coming down harder on people who use black hat SEO methods to boost their websites' search engine rankings. What hasn't changed is the value of unique, well-written content. If anything, websites with real content are now achieving higher search engine rankings and more traffic.
As a suggestion for those who wish to find themselves at the top of the rankings, or at least near the top, it would be best to use unique content from real writers. This is not to say that spun content is a terrible idea, but you need to make sure that the content is well written, and that it meets the standards set forth by the internet community.
As you can see, you do not have to be crushed beneath Panda's new policy, but if you want a favorable outcome, some work will be required, and you will need to learn a bit more about search engine optimization, especially if you have been relying on copied content. There's no telling what the future will hold, but we can be assured that it will harbor a much better internet experience.
