Affiliate Marketing is blowing up in popularity as the hot new way to make money on the internet. It's great for many different reasons, but mainly because it enables people to make a little extra money on the side or earn a full time income from home if they put enough effort into it. Even though there are a lot of people out there talking about how difficult it can be, I'm going to give you the low down on how you too can get into affiliate marketing, even if you don't know where to start.

Affiliate Marketing sounds a little scary at first, but fear not! It is usually a term used pretty loosely to mean a number of different things. In simplest terms, its really just the act of a company having you sell their products for them, and in return they reward you with cash. Not the big, bad monster we though it was just ten seconds ago, right?

Everyone at this point will ask how exactly they're to go about selling products that they don't even own. Getting all antsy I see, but we need to answer an even more important question first; what interests you so much that you're just dying to try and sell it on the internet? Better yet, where do we look to find these "affiliate programs"? All joking aside, there are probably millions of affiliate programs out there for every different niche you could think of. Zappo's? Definitely. Amazon? Check. Wanda's Wonderful World of Widgets? Sure. Go ahead and try it out, hit up your favorite retailer on the internet, and check out their site for an "affiliates" section. Once you find the page, you should read through their terms and make sure you find out what kind of commission they offer on products that you would want to promote. Some websites offer great commission percentages, and others don't, so do your research!

Now that we've got our product of choice selected, let's move on! This is where the fun part starts, we get to pour our heart out on why we love this product so much. What we're going to do is write an article explaining why everyone should buy this. The better your writing skills are, the bigger your income with this project will be. At this point, head on over to Yahoo or Google and do a search for article directories, and then proceed to submit your article to these websites who publish it for tons of people to see. If you feel extra ambitious, submit to a bunch, increasing your chances of making money. The higher number of directories you submit to, the better of a turnout you will have with this venture. The directories will have a section called the resource box, this is where you stick your affiliate link that people will click on once you have convinced them to buy this product.

Was this unbearable? Not even close! We have just finished what is called article marketing, a very popular way of gaining money quickly without a big time or cash commitment. It was my goal here to show you a simple way of getting into affiliate marketing; hopefully a few of you will take this even further and explore other methods as well.
