Content or backlink Empty Content or backlink

Hi, seems that people are focusing more on backlinks than on content, since I have seen a lot of posts in this forum and other places talking about back links but fewer talking about content. Also I have seen that some sites with duplicated contents rank high in the search results. So is "content is king" still true? Which is more important, content or backlink? Kind of confused.
