Web Building Guide For Complete Newbies
I believe there are a lot of internet users who know how to build a website, in fact millions of them. Still, we could literally find another billion of people who don’t even have a clue on how to start a website.
Hence now I will be writing a really simple guide to teach complete internet newbies how to build a website. First of course, you are required to have at least a computer and internet access. Secondly, you should have around twenty dollars in your wallet if you were to establish a complete website on your own, unless you want to build a site or blog using free services, which is something I won’t cover in this topic.
Now that you have all the basic ingredients, let’s move on to the next step. Find a domain name registrar, preferably GoDaddy, Moniker or Dynadot and buy yourself a suitable domain name which is something like domain.com, domain.net or domain.org. Make sure it is meaningful and pronounceable, and it will be better off without hyphens and numbers.
A Domain name registration most of the time, cost less than ten dollars which can be easily afforded by anyone and you only renew them after they expire, once every year. Alright, so you already have a good domain name, now it’s time to sign up for a web hosting service to publish your website under the domain name you just registered.
A lot of people tend to use free hosting services to host their website. That could be cost effective if you’re running a small or personal site. But if you are planning to establish a big one, especially for your business or company, it is best to go for paid hosting, which is definitely much more reliable and they only cost you few dollars a month (price will be higher if you are using dedicated or virtual servers, depending on the web host).
Website Hosting UK and US based companies are among the most commonly used and reliable web hosts. Once you subscribed to the web hosting package of your choice, you can start develop your website using all sorts of scripting languages and coding. If you are not good in web designs, try asking the pros for some tips or hire them to do the job for you.
